TikTok has announced that it will soon ban all videos featuring men dancing with visible penis lines, or VPLs.

TikTok’s decision to ban VPLs has prompted controversy, with users questioning whether or not it is the right move, and executives wondering how it will affect the company’s bottom line.

According to TikTok’s official statement, the decision was made after receiving numerous complaints from users who were “offended” and “disgusted” by the sight of men dancing in basketball shorts with no underwear, resulting in a prominent VPL.

“We understand that this may be a controversial decision, but we believe that it is our responsibility to create a safe and welcoming environment for all of our users,” the statement reads. “Visible penis lines have no place on TikTok.”

However, not everyone agrees with TikTok’s decision. Some users have pointed out that men have been dancing with VPLs for centuries, and that they are a natural and harmless part of the human body. Others have even started a hashtag campaign, #FreeTheVPL, in protest of the ban.

In spite of the backlash, TikTok has remained firm in its decision. This means you’ll need to look elsewhere for viral dance videos featuring men with a little too much freedom in their basketball shorts.

The company has not commented on their stance on men in grey sweatpants as of yet.
