A local man has claimed to have had a divine encounter after overdosing on LSD.

The incident, which occurred last night, has left many in the community questioning the validity of the man’s claims and the safety of the psychotropic drug.

According to witnesses, the man, who has been identified as a 25-year-old man who identifies himself by the name OXVZ, was at a party when he reportedly ingested a large amount of LSD. Shortly after, he began displaying bizarre behavior, including speaking in tongues and claiming to have seen God.

“It was like nothing I’ve ever seen before,” said party-goer Alana McCarthy. “This dude was just sitting there, staring at the wall and mumbling something about being forgiven. It was so friggin’ creepy.”

OXVZ was treated at a local hospital after being taken there by the police. However, he continues to insist that his experience was not a drug-induced hallucination, but rather a legitimate encounter with a higher power.

“I saw the light and I knew that everything was going to be alright,” OXVZ said in a statement to The Platypus. “I was forgiven for all of my sins and I know that I am now on the path to salvation.”

However, religious leaders have condemned the incident, stating that a drug-induced hallucination cannot be a legitimate encounter with God.

Drugs may alter your perception of reality, but they can never bring you closer to God.

“This is nothing more than a cheap ploy for attention,” said Reverend James Jones of the First Baptist Church of Jesus Christ Ministries and Convention Center. “Drugs may alter your perception of reality, but they can never bring you closer to God. The true path to God is by attending church and tithing.”

The incident has also raised concerns about the safety of LSD, with many calling for stricter regulations on the drug.

“This is just another example of the dangers of drugs like LSD,” said Mayor Tony Leduca. “We need to take a serious look at the harm they are causing in our community and take steps to protect our citizens from these crazy religious experiences.”

But OXVZ remains steadfast in his belief that his experience was genuine. He’s even started a group called “Devine Encounters by the Spotless Mind” with the goal of spreading awareness about the supposed spiritual benefits of LSD.

“I know that some people may not understand what I went through, but I know that it was real,” said OXVZ. “And I want to help others have the same experience for a low one-time fee of $599.”

Whether or not the man’s claims are true remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: his story has sparked widespread fascination with psychedelic drugs.
